An introduction to PHP, the most widely-used programming language for web development.
Before we begin using PHP to make our project interactive, we need to have a look at what PHP is and how it works. If you feel you are familiar with the basics of PHP, you can skip any or all of this chapter – this chapter is a series of small exercises and no changes are made to the project files so you can dip in and out of it as you want. Each lesson ends with a little piece of homework and I do recommend doing that because each one covers an important point that will be needed when we get back to work on the project.
PHP’s official website is php.net, where you can find the online manuals for PHP and its built-in functions.
